NSBA BROADS AREA INTER-CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP FOR RAMUZ TROPHY
The 2012 Championship was hosted by the Norfolk Schools Sailing Association on Filby Broad on Sunday 9 September. Teams from 15 sailing clubs sailed two races each to determine the six finalists. The event took place in Wayfarers, Hartley Mark 4s with some from the 8th Norwich Sea Scouts supplementing those of NSSA itself. With 15 teams and only eight boats, the NSSA hosts were kept busy. Hardened winning Wayfarer crews had to adapt to sailing school rigs and controls, and to the local waters. The attractive broadside location for the large contingent of supporters enabled an excellent view of the five races on the competitive courses set and was much appreciated on a splendid sunny day. Mollie Howes, herself longtime organiser of the event, presented the prestigious trophy to the winners, Richard Smith and Veronica Falat representing WOBYC, this club retaining the trophy for a second year.
Join us on the River Bure at Horning on 15 September this year to see if WOBYC make it 3 years running!
